New Zealand - Wonders of the West Coast

2 nights at Christchurch, 1 night at Greymouth, 1 night at Glacier Region and 2 nights at Queenstown, visit Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers, Mount Cook and Queenstown.

Day 1 Arrive Christchurch
On arrival at Christchurch, also known as the Garden City, you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at your hotel in Christchurch. 

Day 2 Christchurch to Punakaiki to Greymouth
After breakfast, you depart to Christchurch on the renowned Tranz Alpine Train over the Southern Alps to Greymouth. On arrival in Greymouth, you drive down in a coach to Punakaiki and its famous Pancake Rocks - magnificent limestone formations carved by the elements over millions of years. Overnight at your hotel Greymouth. (B) 

Day 3 Greymouth to Glacier Region
After breakfast, you leave Greymouth and travel south along the Scenic West Coast which has stunning views on both sides of the road: the Southern Alps on one and the Tasman Sea on the other. Stop en route at Hokitika where you get to see greenstone carvers and glass blowers at work. View Franz Josef Glacier and Lake Matheson near Fox Glacier. On calm days, Mt Cook and Tasman are reflected in the still waters of the lake. Overnight at your hotel in Glacier Region. (B)

Day 4 Glacier Region to Queenstown
After breakfast, you drive past the spectacular mountain ranges, native forests and lakes of the Glacier Region to the Haast Pass, the gateway to World Heritage Westland National Park. Then follow the shores of Lakes Hawea and Wanaka before you arrive in Queenstown by late afternoon. Time permitting; you will be able to explore on your own the lake-front city which has featured in many Bollywood blockbusters. Overnight at your hotel in Queenstown. (B)

Day 5 Queenstown
After breakfast, the day is yours to explore Queenstown at your own pace. And the choices are endless. Thrill seekers can go bungee jumping, jet boating, white water rafting, skiing. Softer options include scenic glacier flights, cruising in a paddle boat under the gaze of the Remarkable Mountains, mysterious forest treks, a gondola ride up to a ridge with a panoramic view of the surroundings. All activities are at your own expense and not included in the price of the tour. Overnight at your hotel in Queenstown. (B)

Day 6 Queenstown to Mt Cook to Christchurch
Your scenic journey starts after breakfast when you drive through the Central Otago region to Mt Cook, known to the Maori as Aorangi, the Cloud Piercer. Offer a little prayer of thanks at the Church of the Good Shepherd (yes, there is a lot to appreciate and be grateful for) on the banks of Lake Tekapo before entering the Canterbury Plains speckled with frolicking white lambs. Overnight at your hotel in Christchurch. (B)

Day 7 Fly back home
After breakfast say good bye to this beautiful country as you are transferred to the airport for your flight back home. Your tour ends on this day. (B)
