Sri Lanka - Beautiful Lanka

1 night at Kandy, 1 night at Nuwara Eliya and 1 night at Colombo, daily breakfast and dinner, transportation by A/C vehicle with an English speaking chauffeur and guide, temples of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela and half day city tour of Colombo.

Day 1 Arrive into Kandy
Welcome to Sri Lanka, you will be received by a representative and transferred to Kandy. Arrive into Kandy and check into your hotel. Later on proceed on a tour of Kandy the last capital of the Sri Lankan Kings. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic which is one of the main attractions in Kandy. This is the centre of Kandy and the Sacred Tooth of Buddha is the heart of it. The Dalada Maligawa is one of the most sacred Buddhist temples for Buddhists around the world. Throughout history the sacred Tooth has been guarded by kings, first in India (sixteen centuries ago) and then moved from one capital to another, always with the king. Once you enter the temple you will see the splendor with which it is decorated. Please note that visitors are required to remove any hats, caps, scarves or any form of head gear. Also women are required to wear suitable clothing. The final visit for the day will be to the beautiful botanical gardens in Peradeniya, Kandy. The botanical gardens date back to 1371 when King Wickramabahu III ascended the throne and kept court at Peradeniya near the Mahaweli river. However the present botanic gardens at Peradeniya were established in 1821. Occupying 146 acres, it has about 4,000 species of plants including palms, orchids, gymnosperms and a great variety of beautiful flowering plants. Return to your hotel. Day 2 Depart to Nuware Eliya
After breakfast, proceed to Sri Lanka's best known hill station at Nuware Eliya. Enroute visit a tea plantation and factory. The Tea factory lies, alone and unique, on the slopes of the tea plantations at Kandapola, high above the hill country town of Nuwara Eliya. The largest and most popular town in the highlands. Arrive in Nuware Eliya and check-in to your hotel. Overnight at your hotel in Nuware Eliya. (B)

Day 3 Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela
After breakfast, proceed to Colombo. Enroute visit the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela, which is home to about 60 elephants found abandoned or orphaned in the wild. Upon arrival in Colombo, proceed on an half-a-day city tour of the city taking in sites such as the old parliament, residential areas and the BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall). Overnight stay at your hotel in Colombo. (B)

Day 4 Fly back home
After breakfast, say good bye to this enchanting city as you are transferred to Colombo Airport for your flight back home. The tour ends at the airport. (B)
