everyone, be it museums, grand monuments, nightlife, shopping, cafes and
restaurants, architecture, lake cruises, gardens and fondue! Overnight at
your hotel in Zurich.
Day 2 City tour of Zurich, on to
Luzern
After breakfast, proceed on a city tour
of Zurich on the Classic Trolley, the first of its kind in Switzerland.
The Classic Trolley route covers almost all the most important sights of
Zurich including its business and financial heart at Bahnhofstrasse;
important museums, the Old Town, Fraumunster Church with its famous
Chagall windows, historical Limmatquai, the university district,
residential areas, beautiful hillside villas at Zurichberg, recreation
areas, gardens, the throbbing waterfront, views of the city and the Alps
from vantage points. Later proceed to the train station on your own for
your train to Luzern. Sit back and enjoy this scenic journey to the
charming Swiss Town of Luzern, a must visit city during any trip to
Switzerland. Upon arrival, make your way to the hotel and check-in. The
day is free for you to explore this lakefront city on your own. Luzern,
which has a myriad of attractions, pleads to be explored on foot. Stroll
across the Kappelbrucke, the oldest covered wooden bridge in the world and
drop in at the 17th Century Jesuit Church across the Reuss river. Take a
leisurely walk through a maze of small streets, bridges, promenades and
plazas dominated by countless historical towers, fountains and frescoed
buildings. Shop at one of the many fine boutiques; get a taste of
traditional Swiss food or choose to indulge in the wide variety of
International cuisine. Overnight at your hotel in Lucerne. (B)
Day 3 Excursion to Mount Pilatus
Today after breakfast, take off on yet
another fun filled mountain excursion. Make your own way to the station to
board your train to Alpnachstad which is the starting point for your
excursion to Mount Pilatus at 2132 m altitude. Ride Europe's steepest cog
wheel train to arrive at the top, which holds a host of activities and
adventure for all. Pilatus is also native to over 900 species of plants,
and you will be able to spot some beautiful chamois, colourful Alpine
Roses, and arnica or gentian on your ride up, while sounds of crystal
clear streams echo from sheer cliff formations. At the peak, great
children's playground, hiking, climbing, toboggan sledging, biking, a
variety of restaurants, events and exhibitions and not to mention the
astounding views of the Alps, Pilatus has all this and more to offer
(optional activities are at an extra cost). Return to your hotel in Luzern.
Overnight in Luzern. (B)
Day 4 On to Interlaken
After breakfast, at the hotel, make your
way to the train station to board the train to Interlaken. Arrive in
Interlaken, a city nestled between two lakes as its name suggests and
check- in to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax and enjoy
the town and its surroundings. We recommend a quick trip to Mystery Park,
an adventure theme park which has many surprises in store for young and
old alike (on your own). Overnight at your hotel in Interlaken.(B)
Day 5 Day at leisure
After breakfast, you have the full day
at your disposal to explore and enjoy Interlaken and surrounding areas on
your own. We recommend a scenic train journey to Jungfraujoch, the top of
Europe. You board a train for Lauterbrunnen from where you catch another
train that takes you to Kleine Scheidegg, via the charming car free
village of Wengen. The journey is graced with breathtaking views of the
valley below and a spectacular view of the three peaks of Eiger, Monch and
Jungfrau. At Kleine Scheidegg change trains once more and board Europe's
highest cog-wheel line that takes you up to Jungfraujoch, the highest
train station in the world at 3,454 metres. And there is a lot to do up
here: step on to the Sphinx observation hall and terrace, enter the Ice
Palace in the heart of the glacier, walk on the eternal snows of the
Jungfrau plateau, grab a bite at the Glacier restaurant, or just relax and
enjoy the view of the valley below (this excursion cost is not included in
your tour price). Return to Interlaken in the evening and overnight at
your hotel in Interlaken. (B)
Day 6 Interlaken to Geneva
Today after breakfast, say goodbye to
this beautiful city of Interlaken, as you make your own way to the station
to board your train to Geneva. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and
relax. Later proceed on a city tour of Geneva. The tour includes a ramble
through Geneva's past, and a ride on a mini-train. Drive past the city's
sparkling harbour, green lakeside parks, residences quarters, the UN
Building and more. Yes, Geneva is a modern city that is firmly rooted in
its past. Return to your hotel. Overnight at your hotel in Geneva. (B)
Day 7 Fly back home
Today after breakfast, bid adieu to
fabulous Switzerland as you are transferred to the airport for your flight
home. The tour ends at the airport. (B)
